Wow does flying stink these days. I think that not only is it a racket to try to get you to buy toiletries and whatnot...but the goal of all
these terror allerts and rediculous searches is to undermine the public's sense of security. What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty?
I mean look at what happened to my fiance - they took her contact solution from her purse and while her carry on came through, the airline
personal says "Oh just wait, I'm sure we're going to find a lot more in here" with such a condescending tone it made me sick. Backing up a
second - undermining our sense of security. I felt less secure than ever after going through the scans. One, there are a lot of bags and
pockets that go through unchecked, plus whatever is in the checked luggage - I don't think any amount of scanning, checking is really going to
improve security outside of what was done pre-9/11. Not only that but seeing the terror alert status everywhere...it was like WTF..is this
really necessary? I think that the aim of all this is so that the American public will be more accepting of the passage of bills that undermine
our privacy rights and our basic freedoms. If the American public wasn't scared, why would such things be allowed to occur, there'd be no
percieved need.

Oh well. Hopefully the wheels of change are slowly starting to gain some momentum.
